ent is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 6th and 7th, 2009 at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lula, Mississippi. Co-sponsored by PKC, Purina, and the Isle of Capri Casino, the winner drives home in a brand new pickup truck! The event is a single elimination event, conducted under Pro Rules with non-hunting judges, with early round cast winners advancing to the late round on Friday night. The four late round cast winners form Friday night late compete on Saturday night for the keys to the brand spanking new pickup truck!
Our field this year consists of 23 Males and 25 Females. Those 48 dogs represent one Black & Tan Male and one Female, one Cross-Bred Female, one English Male and two Females, and 21 Walker Males and 21 Females.
Tennessee once again leads the field with eight qualifiers, followed closely by Georgia with seven qualifiers. Kentucky qualifiers number six, and the states of Illinois and Louisiana each have five qualifiers. Mississippi has three qualifiers, while the states of Alabama, New York, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina have two qualifiers each; and the states of Arkansas, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas round out the field with one dog qualifying from each state.
The field includes thirty-three Champions, seven Silver Champions, six Gold Champions, and two Platinum Champions.
All participants are asked to be on site between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM on Friday, March 6th for pictures. At this time, handlers will draw for their first round cast, as well as, receive a cap and jacket commemorating the event, compliments of Nestle-Purina and PKC.
Following the picture taking, all handles will be guests of the Isle of Capri Casino for a reception consisting of various finger foods and drinks, non-alcoholic of course. Following the reception, casts will depart the casino for the first round of competition.

All qualifiers will receive a cap and jacket commemorating their qualification for the event, compliments of Purina and PKC, and are asked to please wear the jacket for picture taking!
Pictures of all qualifiers will be taken between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM at a site designated by the casino, and all participants are being asked to please be on time.
Immediately following pictures, all participants and their guests will be treated to a brunch consisting of various finger foods, compliments of the Isle of Capri Casino.
Calling of casts will follow the brunch, and we hope to bring you the complete match-ups soon after draw-out is completed!
Cast winners from the early round on Friday night will recast late to determine the Final Four spots for Saturday night and a one in four chance at a new pickup truck!!!!!
