uly 6, 2001 after losing a short battle with cancer. Members will readily recognize Allen as the owner of Tar Heel Nitro, a prominent Walker Super Stakes Sire. Allen was 56 years old. His wife Doris and his two children, Jeff and Sonya survive him.

One never had to wonder where he stood with Allen. A straightforward, straight-talking individual, he was a strong competitor in his day. He was very influential in founding the Southeastern Treeing Walker Association and served the association in many capacities since its inception.

Friends may call at the Ladys Funeral Home in Kannapolis, North Carolina on Monday, July 9th from 6 to 9 PM.

I spoke with Allen often concerning the PKC Super Stakes program during his illness. He was a proponent of DNA testing and kept excellent breeding records. He made an annual fall hunting trip to Michigan and it was just after his hunt last fall that he learned of his disease. Those of us in the coon hunting fraternity have lost a true friend in Allen. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
