The PKC Beagle Program is proud to announce Robert Dunlap (JR) of Redhouse, WV as the new PKC Beagle Eastern Region Representative! Robert has been very supportive of PKC and has been instrumental in helping out clubs within his area. Robert has been striving to promote new clubs and is always trying to bring consistency. Robert is passionate about communicating and discussing the correct interpretations from the rule book. Robert received many recommendations for the position that came from beaglers throughout the Northeast.

Robert is 41 years old and works in Engineering at Parkline Metal Buildings, Inc. Robert is very proud of his family! He is happily married to Jill Dunlap, who is a Certified Nursing Assistant at Thomas Memorial Hospital. Robert's son, Travor, is a 22-year-old sophomore at Glenville State University. He also has a 16 year old daughter, Brittany, that is a Junior at Poca High School.

Robert served in the US Army in Operation Desert Storm. Robert has had beagles all of his life. His Dad owned beagles when he was a youngster and Robert was very involved. Robert's son has been raised the same way, and always looked forward to seeing his dog when he came home from school. But, it wasn't until Robert came home from the service that he and his brother, David, began trialing. They started with Little Pack in 1992 and in 1999, made the transition to UKC. He and his brother were members at Western West Virginia Beagle Club in Milton, WV and he became vice president the second year they were there. Three years later, they would leave and form what is now Putnam County Beagle Club in Red House WV. Robert served as President of the club for 6 years before stepping down due to a stroke. After a great recovery, Robert came back as the PKC Hunt Director at Redhouse in 2011. Robert runs and trials Lemon and White beagles, primarily from the Satsuma Bloodline.

Besides the beagle world, Robert served as a firefighter for thirteen years. He has also spent a lot of time coaching youth football and baseball. He thoroughly enjoys camping and flint knapping. He also loves to teach youth groups from some of the local churches about history and survival skills in the outdoors.

Robert commented "I will tell you that the funest hunt that I have ever been to was the PKC World in Cumberland, OH this last Spring. I didn't even have a dog with me and I laughed all the way home. To me, that's what this is all about, is having fun and meeting new folks with the same interest. I think as of right now, the east should have a goal to expand. We need more clubs in our region and I think we will get them. I am excited to work with the clubs in the Eastern Region to see that it happens! Call me if you need anything at all, 304-881-9771."

Thank you,

Tony Kildow – PKC Beagle Division Director
