The final cast of the 2018 PKC National Championship has left the Marion County Fairgrounds enroute to the casting area.  The temperature is sitting at 49 degrees with a 5 mph E/NE wind.  It should be a great night for hunting, so long as the east wind does not adversely affect the raccoon movement.
...
The cast has arrived at the hunting spot.  Dogs are being collared up and Panel Member Tom Wilson is opening with a prayer before the dogs are cast.
...
We have three hounds competing for $37,000 tonight that have won a combined $108,608 in their lifetimes.
...
Dogs are cast into the dark at 8:16 CDT
...
Immediate action, X struck 100, Bill 75
...
X is declared treed for 100
...
Bill treed for 50
...
Shot struck for a 50, with a line
...
Shot is declared treed, split for 100
...
Plus X 200+ and Bill 125+
...
Let's take a look at Shot's tree
...
Plus up Shot 150+

All dogs have now been recast, with a new set of strike points
...
X is struck for 100 within the minute
...
Minute up

...
Tree X for 100
...
Plus up X again for a total of 400+ now
...
So much for that east wind
...
Six working on Bill as X and Jason
take a breath
...

Bill barks, X recast
...
I'm just guessing that Shot is somewhere in the far end of the section about now
...
Six is applied to Bill again
...
X struck for a quarter, breaking Bill's six
...
I guessed backwards, Shot struck for 50 deep BEHIND the cast
...
Bill is declared treed for 100
...
X is declared treed again, split for 100
...
It took a bit to get to Bill, he had two shine'n, plus his 175+, giving him 300+
...
Recast Bill
...
Now on to X
...
Have reached X's tree, shining now
...
This one has made it home, circle up 125
...
Shot has been heard from and declared treed for 100
...
X is recast
...
X struck for a quarter with a line
...
The action sure has slowed down for the moment
...
Still moving toward Shot
...
About thirty minutes left
...
The proof is found quickly, give Shot another 150+, giving him 300+
...
After a walk, Shot is recast
...
Shot & Bill are tied at 300+, but Shot has Bill beat on the tie breaker
...
X is now declared treed again for 100, the fourth time in the contest
...
Twenty minutes left
...
Shot is re-struck for a quarter, with a line
...
Shot declared treed for 100
...
Five minutes left
...
Taking a look at X's tree now, a big den, but it still may be spotted
...
Hunt time has expired
...
Bill finishes with 300+
...
Circle up X, he finishes with 400+ & 250 circle
...
Now on to Shot, if he has a coon, he wins, a circle 2nd, a blank 3rd
...
