The PKC Staff Welcomes Mike Hensley

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mike Hensley on his recent appointment as a PKC Field Representative and welcome him to the PKC Family.  Mike has graciously agreed to accept this position and we certainly feel that he is a welcomed addition. Mike lives near Hartville, about fifty miles east of Springfield, Missouri with his wife Kathy, they have one daughter, Brittany (31). 

Mike has worked at the Missouri Department of Transportation for the last 25 years and also has lots of chores to take care of at home.  He and Kathy maintain 257 acres of crop fields and pasture on their family farm, just a half mile from where Mike grew up.  The couple previously milked dairy cows for fourteen years, but now ride herd over fifty momma beef cows used to raise their annual calf crop.

Mike became involved with coon hunting at a very young age.  Both his father and grandfather pleasure hunted and also participated in the Nite Hunts.  Mike is one in a family of six boys, but he is the only one who coon hunts.  For many years he, his dad and his grandpa enjoyed hunting the Spring Creek line of Treeing Walkers, due to their performance, and the physical proximity to Duane Clark.  Since about 1999, Mike has stuck with his own breeding of dogs and they have been performing very well for him.

Mike became a member of the Professional Kennel Club back in July of 1985, and he has been a very active member since; his PKC Lifetime Earnings are over $18,914.  Mike started judging late rounds at the 2003 PKC World Championship in Aurora, really enjoyed it, and has been doing it at every opportunity since.  Mike loves to see good dog work and likes spending time in the woods with various handlers from all parts of the US. 

PKC Members who have been attending the Blue Ribbons, Super Stakes, National and World Championships over the last several years know Mike well.  He is considered one of the top PKC Judges in the nation.  The respect that Mike has earned from his fellow PKC Members, due to his honesty and integrity, is very well deserved.
