The 2016 PKC Fall Super Stakes Championships get underway one week from today in Salem, Illinois. Clayton, Vern, David and Mary Dial, the City of Salem, the Salem Club and their various satellite clubs are ready for a big week!

Qualifying nights will again be Monday through Thursday.  Pups winning two (2) casts (early and late) on any qualifying night will advance to the semi-final rounds on Friday night.

Beginning this year at the 2016 PKC Fall Super Stakes Championship, early round cast winners Monday - Thursday, failing to win their late round cast, will earn $250 each! Checks will be available for pickup after 3:00 PM the following day and may be used for re-entry.

Entries may be confirmed from 3 pm until 5 pm each day Monday through Thursday. Owners with multiple entries who do not confirm early cannot be guaranteed separate casts!  Non-reserved entries will also be accepted during this time. Calling of first round casts will take place at 5:30 pm daily.

First time entry fee with reservation is $150, first time without reservation is $190.  Re-entry fee is $250 for those with reservations and $290 without.

Vendors will be setting up on Sunday afternoon, September 25th.

The 2016 Fall Freshman “Baby” Super Stakes Championship for 2016 model fall pups (birth dates 11/01/15 to 04/30/16) will be held on Saturday, October 1st. Entry fee for the event is $65 for reserved entries and $90 for those that do not have reservations.

There will also be a one (1) hour $250 Added Purse Open Event on Saturday night, 10/01/16. Entry Fee is $60.

Please note: Due to the PKC Staff attending the 2016 Fall Super Stakes Championships, the PKC Office will close each day at noon Monday September 26 – Thursday September 29.

Congratulations to PCH Backwater Homer, Jeff Barnes and Eric Piatt for winning the 2016 PKC Blue Ribbon Pro Division Race with $7,066.66. Homer is a 2010 Treeing Walker male owned by Jeff Barnes of Lyerly, Georgia and handled by Eric Piatt of Winchester, Ohio. Backwater Homer’s sire is PCH Backwater Bone Collector, his dam is PCH NCH Bey – Bey, and his lifetime earnings now exceed $24,000.

Polo Wins Final 2016 Season Pro Hunt!

The final Blue Ribbon Event of the 2016 Pro Season is in the books. Congratulations to all of the weekend’s and season’s winners. The Cedar Grove Crew once again did a fine job of providing all the needed help being the host club for the event.

Thanks to the four full time judges that came for the weekend to offer their assistance fulfilling the judging duties for the weekend. Jesse Jordan, John Ervin, Will Deloach, and Brian Gaston. Thanks are also in order for the guides that handled all four rounds, the club judges, kitchen crew, and Tom Wilson for all of his help.

When Sunday morning arrived Trespassing Polo had worked his way through and ended up with bragging rights for this year’s North Carolina Blue Ribbon Winner!

PKC New York State President, Matt Wilday, provided the following report. “The 6th and final night of the 2016 Nor'Easter is in the books. We put 114 dogs in the woods, scored on 37 coon and had 19 different cast winners for the week. There was not one single question even though the weather was unpleasant to hunt in with high temperatures and humidity for the entire week. Hector was crowned the Nor'Easter Champion winning 5 of the 6 nights, followed by Ava who was crowned Opposite Sex Champion winning 4 of the 6 nights. Zach Martin was crowned the Youth Champion handling NY Wipeout Crackhead. Congratulations to all of the winners, hope to see everyone next year." Shown below are the Final Four (L-R):
