The first night of the 2016 PKC Lone Star 5,000+ kicked off with a bang. We had a great crowd at the Iola Fire Department after the rain had moved out of the area. Ninety-Four dogs showed up to take their shot at the big Added Purses and the Awesome Belt Buckles. Both the Open and Pup Finalists chose to split their earnings and call it a night.

The storm clouds opened up tonight and really cut loose. With the rain pouring down, several fainthearted hunters elected to stay cooped up in their motel rooms in favor of getting wet. Nonetheless, we had a nice crowd and the diehard hunters scored on several coon under less than desirable conditions. The next two days are forecasted to be in the 70's, so we expect some really nice hunting in Iola.

The Fourteenth Annual PKC Jewett Classic kicked off tonight with a nice crowd packing the Civic Center in Jewett, Texas. There was still some concern about water in some low lying areas, but for the most part the extra precipitation from last week has gone into the sandy Texas soil. Both the Open and Pup Divisions chose to hunt it off and see who has the best for the night.

Happy New Year From The PKC Staff
The staff at Professional Kennel Club sincerely wishes each of you a safe and Happy New Year’s Holiday as you ring in 2016. Only God knows what is in store for us as we head down this new road together. Hold on tight and keep the faith, it's gonna' be a fun ride!
The first few weeks of January kicks off a flurry of PKC activity in Texas and South Carolina. All of this is followed by Pro Hunts, several large Open Events, two Truck Hunts and a multitude of State and Breed Championships within a short period of time. Good luck to you at the hunts and please be safe in your travels. Hope to see ya’ll in Jewett and Iola, Texas next week!
