Preston Luft, age 26, of Carroll, Iowa went missing in the process of rounding up his hound following a cast on Friday night August 03, 2012.  Preston had been participating in the PKC Tall Corn Classic in LeGrand, Iowa.

Witnesses last saw Luft around 2 A.M. Saturday morning and later contacted the local sheriff's office for assistance in searching for him.  The PKC hunters in the area put off hunting and banded together providing a tremendous amount of manpower to help search for Preston.

The local authorities involved were the LeGrand, Tama, and Marshalltown Fire Departments, Marshall County Emergency Management, K-9 Connection and numerous other volunteers.

About 11:00 P.M. Saturday Luft's body was found on the north side of the Iowa River.  Neither Dr. Mark Bethel the county medical examiner, nor police have determined a cause of death.

Stemming from a suggestion made by member Brent Springer, PKC will be accepting donations on behalf of the Luft family.  You may send a check to the PKC Office, give it to the Hunt Director at your local club to send in with the hunt report, or hand it to a PKC Staff member.  Be sure to put “Preston Luft Family” in the memo line of your check or include a note.  Either way, 100% of what is collected will go directly to the Preston Luft Family.

Our hearts go out to the Luft Family in their time of grief.  Please join us in prayers to comfort Preston's family and friends.

Thank you!
