In January of 2001, a new face appeared on the PKC/PURINA National Bench Show Tour. The Sunshine Jamboree show was the debut appearance of David Sessoms of Elm City, NC and a Super Stakes pup he calls River Pine Flying Hawk, sired by Amanda Hess' Mr. Bo Jangles, a show dog widely known. Hawk swept the field that day in Thomasville and was to appear at several major PKC shows in the 2001 circuit. His presence on the bench took panels of judges by storm across the nation and in doing so, the North Carolina pup captured the top spot on the Zone Two leader board.

The field of hounds Hawk faced at the 2001 PKC World Show included the 2001 Autumn Oaks winner as well as the 2001 UKC World Show Champion. It would be the two-year old Walker's, as well as his handler's biggest test.

Apparently judges Bill Clawson of Ohio, Johnny Brinkley of Florida, and H.L. Meyer, Jr. of Georgia saw in Hawk what judges have been seeing all year long. They awarded the exceptional-looking tri-colored hound the 2001 PKC World Show Champion title in a very exciting contest that included the Who's Who in show dogs for 2001.

The winning effort earned for Sessoms a check from PKC in the amount of $710, a Heritage Dog Box, a Tri-tronics Field 70 trainer, 600 pounds of PURINA brand dog food, and a PURINA World Championship jacket in addition to the incomparable title - PKC World Show Champion!

PKC congratulates David and Phyllis Sessoms and their fine hound, River Pine Flying Hawk - worthy World Show Champions!
