Owen, I don't judge casts anymore due to my failing hearing, but to answer your questions; if I was judging you under Pro Rules, yes and yes.
Prepare yourself and your hound. Hunt the dog, read the Blue Book, and your Good Book!

You guys know the answers to the questions your asking. Correcting your dog at any time is a scratch. But as with anything it falls in the discretion of judge, voting cast members, and/or a panel. Every rule in the book has room for interpretation, while giving us a good solid basis for how we judge a dog.

Well Austin I thought I knew the rules inside and out till this weekend! One made a difference in me winning a cast and one didn’t but it would have changed the final 4 at a $6,500 entry fee hunt two of the 3 nights! so getting a clear and very clear answers with screen shots so when it happens again there will be no doubt it will be handled right or there will be further action taken!

I chalk it up as judge made his call no biggy but now that it has been made clear it won’t happen again on a cast that I am on!

A good non hunting judge can stop all this before it happens, dog returns to a tree I let them know going back we ain’t gonna jerk him around!! 15 running we can walk but keep your hands off that lead strap and don’t be breaking no limbs. I’ve seen it all cause I’ve done it all and they will do what you let them do. I tell them this and that is there only warning there getting and I expect the same treatment. Warn them before it starts so when you send them to the truck there is no question as to why, I don’t blame a man for trying but I want to let them know that old 20 yr old trick ain’t gonna work tonight. Cut em loose, call em for what they do and take what you got coming and we will have a good hunt.

The main rule that needs to be applied in hunts anymore is common sense problem is most people lack it.
I like one that makes you feel lonely
