-AGM TAIPAN TM10-256 - You get what you pay for when it comes to anything, and especially thermals. This thermal isn’t ideal for coon hunting and will be hard to reach the top of trees with. If you are in a budget it may work, but there are a lot of people unhappy with this one.
-AGM Taipan TM15-384 - Good thermal for coon hunting. It’s the first one I carried many nights. It has a wide field of view and many coons were found. The only downfall is when you’re looking at the top of the taller trees. Check out the next one for help on that.
-AGM Taipan TM19-384 - This is the best bang for your buck in coon hunting. Everyone I hunt with has traded up to the TM19. The field of view isn’t as wide as the 15 but you can reach taller trees with ease. The clarity is good as well. The TM15 is like looking at a tree with your brightest walk light. The TM19 is like looking at a tree with your brightest main beam. More zoomed in field of view but it’s what you need in some cases.
-AGM TAIPAN TM25-384 - I know people who use them, and they’re a good tool. My opinion is, if you’re going to drop the money on this thermal, just go to the Sidewinder. Due to the field of view, you have to step further back from the tree which can be a challenge sometimes in the middle of thick woods.
-AGM Sidewinder TM25-384 - The newest thermal from AGM and it’s exactly as advertised. Powerful and Really Clear. You don’t have a big field of view like the TM15 or TM19, but the clarity overrides this. It’s the top of the line for what I’d recommend for coon hunters and there are a lot of people happy.
