This came up last night in second round of SS: Two dogs declared treed and one on lease one still loose but hunt time expires! Tree still to be scored! Judge allowed hunter to go get his dog with use of his Garmin GPS! He's winning the cast until last tree is scored! We walk about an hour trying to get to the dogs which are across a deep creek and steep hills! We walk out of hearing and can't get to them without assistance of the Garmin so we take the minus which cost one of the dogs the cast win! When I got to the tree one of the hunters that had got lost was at the tree and had been so for over an hour! He said dogs never missed a bark for over an hour! Coon seen!
All said and done the question is what should be done about the hunter using his Garmin before the hunt is over and tree is scored even though time had expired? I questioned the judge but to no avail! My position is the hunt was not offically over until the last tree was scored! The hunter that went and got his dog won the cast!

Agree!
That's what I contested! I thought it was when the last tree was scored not when the time expired! Guess PKC needs to make that call!
