I am 66, I feel that you should be at least 62 before you hunt in a senior hunt. And you should own the dog you are hunting. I started with the PCA, AND am still a member of the PKC. You cannot beat the walking in Salem,Il. So sign me up!!!!!

LIKE TERRY I STARTED WITH PCA ONE HUNT A MONTH MADE EVERY HUNT IT WAS A GATHERING OFJUST ABOUT THE SAME GROUP OF GUYS EACH MONTH HAVING A GOOD TIME HUNTING AND MAYBE IF YOU AND YOUR DOG WHERE GOOD OR LUCKY ENOUGH MIGHT WIN SOME CASH .YOU DONT SEE MANY OF THE OLD GUYS HUNTING THEM NOW FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE WE ARE OLD AND KINDA WORN OUT FOR THAT REASON ALONG I BELIEVE THE AGE SHOULD BE 62 BUT SINCE IT ALL ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR I DOUBT IF THAT WILL HAPPEN AND I DON'T SEE TOO MANY OF THE OLDER GUYS PARTICIPATING JMO.

I'll hunt whenever and wherever. Would like to see this happen. Like Ricky Hawkins, I hate one hour hunts. 1.5 hours is better than hunting one hour. Like to see at least 2 nights of qualifying hunts, don't drag it out for 6 nights though. Prefer to hunt in the late fall or spring when it's cool and no leaves. Once pkc decides to do this and decides on an age, maybe when we renew our dues we can check a" seniors " box instead of the regular breed box. I believe part of our dues go to a breed association. I don't want any special rules either. My thoughts on a minimum age would be mid 50s , or 60. Maybe it will happen, Jr.

I hope a buncha squabbling doesn't ruin this idea!Age limits, locations, cast lengths and recasting rules will be reviewed and decided by the selected 3 man committee. There's no way it will please everyone,me included.I really want this to happen,be good for the sport I think,so let's all show support and keep the ideas coming!

Amen to that!!!

Some of my best memories revolve around Flora, Salem, and Conway and Pine Bluff. Great locations, and good times.

I have had several phone calls from older gentlemen looking for a real nice competition hound that is easy to handle. They all said that they had just been pleasure hunting for several years but heard that there would be some Senior hunts shortly that they could hunt in.
So this must have sparked some renewed interest from the older crowd. :P

I'm a long way from hunting in it but numbers build prestige. The older you make the age the less of a pool of people you can draw from. Lets say you make the age 62. You know there is a very limited amount of guys from that age and up that care anything about coming to a hunt. Make the age 55 and have a decent turn out. 55 might not be what you would call a senior but a guy 10 years older than you might not think you are either. Hopefully its something that can be made to happen.
