Congrats to each Regional Leader! You will be paid $200 at the 2011 World hunt!
The Top 8 of each region will be invited to the Regional Championship. Rankings will be based on standings ending December 31st. The entry fee will be $25. The Final two will be paid in accordance with the $25 payout chart (1st=$80, 2nd=$40 if full field of 8 competes). Of the Added Purse, 2/3 will go to the 1st place dog and the remaining 1/3 will go to the 2nd place dog. If dogs in the top 8 are not present at entry deadline, positions 9-16 will be allowed to enter based on rank.
Friday, 2/18, Western Regional Championship, Columbus, KS, $150 Added Purse
Saturday, 2/12, Southern Regional Championship, Watertown, TN, $300 Added Purse
Saturday, 2/19, Northern Regional Championship, Boonville, IN, $150 Added Purse

Here are the procedures for how the 2012 Regional Championships will be ran:
EVENTS
An annual event shall be scheduled known as “PKC Regional Championship.” Date and location of the event shall be determined by the PKC Directors. PKC must be notified of the date and location of the event by December 31st of the preceding year.
FUNDING
Funding for the Association shall be provided from PKC at the rate of $1.00 per member and through sponsoring events. One dollar for each entry in all Open Events ($2.50 from each $50 Open Event entry) licensed in the region will be held in escrow to provide the purse for the Regional Championship the following year. Regional Association and cosponsoring club will equally share club fee from all events held in conjunction with Regional Championship.
PROMOTION AND RECOGNITION - REGIONAL WINNERS
A minimum of sixty (60%) percent of the Association funds must be spent in the promotion and recognition of dogs and owners. When feasible, it is suggested that sixty (60%) percent of each region's total escrow fund make up the purse for the Regional Championship and this award will be divided as follows:
1st Place ....................50% 2nd Place ..................25%
3rd Place ..................15% 4th Place ..................10%
REGIONAL LEADER AWARD
The Regional Leader will be the dog that has earned the most in PKC Open Event awards from January 1st until December 31st of each Competition Year, provided a minimum of twenty (20%) of its' earnings were earned at events held within its' home region. Each Regional Leader shall receive twenty (20%) of its' regions' championship escrow, to be paid by January 1st following the close of each competition year, when possible, and after its' earnings and eligibility have been verified by PKC.
REGIONAL CHAMPION
Regional Champions shall be determined by conducting an elimination event of the top sixteen (16) Open Event winners from the previous year. First Round will use Hunting Judges, and Finals will be conducted with Non-hunting Judges. The National Directors shall determine the date and location of the hunt within each region. All Regional Championships will be scheduled from the beginning of February until the weekend of the World Hunt. The event shall be conducted in conjunction with other events at the Regional Hunt. The entry fee for any Regional Championship shall be $25. The purse for each PKC Regional Championship will be determined by the amount in the escrow fund from the previous year. A top twenty-four (24) listing will be published monthly in the RABBIT HUNTER. Competition year will begin on January 1st and end on December 31st. A dog will be listed in the standings of the region of the residence of the owner on record. Should ownership of dog change during the course of a competition year, it must earn $1 more in PKC field awards after ownership transfer than it had previously earned in the region of the previous owner in order to transfer to the region of residence of new owner. The top sixteen (16)
will be invited to the Regional Championship elimination the following year. In the event one (1) of the top sixteen (16) is unable to compete, places down to 24th place may move up to replace one that cannot compete in the elimination. Regional Champions will be eligible to advance to the National Championship. Awards will be a minimum of sixty (60%) percent of the association escrow fund. This sixty (60%) percent will be divided as follows:
Regional Leader..............20% Regional Championship ............80%
EASTERN REGION
The states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina and all of the New England States shall be combined to form the Eastern Region.
NORTHERN REGION
The states of Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin shall be combined to form the Northen Region.
SOUTHERN REGION
The states of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida shall be combined to form the Southern Region.
WESTERN REGION
The states of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, the Dakotas and all other states west of the Mississippi River shall be combined to form the Western Region.
